Hi Micky,

It's gone up and up since the French cottoned on to the Brits travelling across on the booze cruises. Wife and I stopped smoking in 2002 but Golden Virginia, Old Holborn, Drum etc used to be really cheap - �2 a pack when it was about �8 here. When we made our last booze cruise trip to Calais the price had doubled and it wasn't really worth the trip. It'll be more now. It's a bit cheaper in Belgium but they have been increasing their prices too.

My wife and I usually go to Paris every May (with what we save from stopping smoking!) and we have casually noticed tobacco prices getting closer to the UK. I'm afraid the golden days of cheap baccy are over Micky.
