I plan to take a year off work and travel Europe in a campervan with my partner and daughters (6 & 8 years old). Has anyone done anything similar? Any tips?

I've never done this, and don't even have children, but my first tip is that you should clear this with the schools which your children attend; and my second tip is that - even if you get clearance from their schools - you should consider very carefully whether this is in the best interest of your daughters.
Have to agree about the education thing but would also urge you to do it. If you don't do it now (whilst you have the impetus), you may not do it again. Prepare for the education problem by looking into what they should be learning at those ages. You will be spending a lot of time with them, so could easily devote a few hours a day to teaching (at that age, its stuff you can do). They will miss the contact with other kids but in Europe this is easier to overcome (especially if you stay on campsites).
