I am going to Malta for Christma and New Year I understand that they are going over to the Euro on January 1st but what curency should i take with me Euro or Maltaise Lira

I think they switched to euro on the 1st Jan this year, there was a question on here the other day about how to change maltese lira back to sterling
Take your sterling.....accepted in Malta.

many thanks for that it certainly solves a problem
Malta currency is Euro - why on earth would you suggest that people take GBP?
Malta changed to euros on Jan.1st 2008. Take euros.
i have just spoke 2 my friend who lives in marsascala in malta and she says they are only taking euros hope this helps
