Hi everyone,
I'm driving up to Preston, near Blackpool, next weekend for a wedding. I'm leaving from Uxbridge, which is at the M40/M25 split near London. Can anyone tell me how long the journey should be approximately??

Thanks!

Great, thanks emeritus! Exactly what I was looking for but didn't know where to find on the web. 3.5 hours seems really short, though.

Kudos!
Three and a half hours? If there is absolutely no traffic then yes, otherwise I'd rely on 4, 5 or even 6 hours. It really depends on when you are travelling, Friday evening will take a lot longer than setting off at say 7am on Saturday morning. We live near Preston and Mr Spudqueen often drives down to London, the journey usually takes about 4 and a half hours.
Assuming you don't get stuck in any major road works or traffic jams, 3.5 hrs is a reasonable amount of time, maybe 1/2 hr longer but not much more.
You can easily spend a good half hour getting past Birmingham on the M6.

What time are you setting off?

Depends on Mr. Kelbillug.... if he has to work Friday then we're setting off early Saturday morning to get to a 4pm wedding.

If he's off work Friday, we leave Friday at probably midday.
