Travelling during summer

I've just discovered that I DESPERATELY want to travel in my next summer break. I just want to get out there and see the world, and I suddenly wish I'd decided to take a gap year.

I would love to do some voluntary work with animals somewhere really exciting. Does anyone know any websites?
