A 5 star self catering cottage in Cumbria off the beaten track but handy for the Lake District National Park and Carlisle - any suggestions?

i have to agree with ringing the tourist information centre - for a very small fee they do all they legwrok for you!
A new development that is getting a lot of attention and some brilliant reviews is a stunning place perfectly located for enjoying the delights of the Lake District and Historic Carlisle.

It is a group of 17th century barns that has been restored and converted to provide 4 and 5 star self catering accommodation in a peaceful and beautiful location in rural Cumbria and yet only 7 miles from Carlisle.

Have a look at http://www.hallhills.co.uk and see for yourself. A hidden gem well worth visiting!
Hi,

For Cottages in Cumbria, check out: http://www.holidaylodging.co.uk (more specifically, http://www.holidaylodging.co.uk/hoseasons-cottages/productList.php?cat1=North+of+England&cat2=Cumbria). There are reviews of cottages on this site which is helpful. If you go for a lodge type accommodation rather than a cottage, also check www.tripadvisor.com as they have a lot of reviews for the holiday parks. In fact, they saved me booking up a right stinker up in the Lakes!
