It lies in the West so Im assuming it's not the central belt
Lesmahagow (Gaelic: Lios MoChuda) is a small town on the edge of moorland, near Lanark in the central belt of Scotland. So if it's near then it's west surely??

hope it helps.
The Central belt consists of Clydeside, The Lothians, Stirlingshire and Clackmannanshire. Lesmahagow is South East of Glasgow, (Clydeside), which puts it west of centre! So, I'd aasume that to be south west Scotland.

looks like I loose the argument, I thought the only counties in south west Scotland were Ayrshire, Wigtownshire, Kirkcudbrightshire and Dumfriesshire
