My teenage daughter introduced me to Covent Garden Plaza this year. Free entertainment every day, but Sunday is my favourite, young up and coming opera singers sing for free and are brilliant, just throw something in the hat if you enjoy it, alongside the jugglers and comedians. I can spend whole days there.

what, like a Mars Bar, frankofile?
yes or a venomous snake.
Don't be facetious, if you don't like it don't go, but give it a try. I'm not usually an opera fan but I enjoy it!!
Little bit of a London history lesson for you (although I only discovered it myself recently)

When Queen Victoria was married to Prince Albert they wanted to create an area of London full of education and culture.

This became the area around South Kensington, starting from the Albert Memorial in the north, via the Albert Hall, down to the South Kensington Museums (the V&A, History, and Science museums).

This area became known as Albertopolis.

You can read more about it here

And I have to say the Natural History Museum is one of the finest buildings in London. If you go there, try to ignore the contents and just look at the buidling (inside and out) it is wonderful

Also the Catholic church next to the V&A museum is worth visiting.

It is called the London Oratory (or Brompton Oratory) and the inside is stunning.

There's a Natutal History Museum and a Science Museuem but they are separate establishments although physically next to each other.

Both are worth visiting.
I agree, street theatre in Covent Garden is great, theres always something going on.
Marzipan q----- Harrods have been known to refuse entry on the door, if they think you are too scruffy or undesirable, dont know about other places.
