What if i run out of money?

If i am travelling and i suddenly find i have very little money left, what do i do? Would it be safe to just ask for odd jobs around the town i am staying in or should i go back home and raise money for another trip? Please take into mind thatthe latter option would really not be prefered!

Well it depends where you are in but in most countries you would be working illegally and liable for deportation if you were caught, so getting any work would be difficult. And if you are working illegally you have zero protection against abuse by your employer.

could you travel with a credit card? Or a debit card, with somebody at home topping it up regularly?

Work out a budget and stick to it! It is hard to do (I know from personal experience) but will save you much hassle when you're stuck in the middle of nowhere.

Once you have worked out a rough budget... add a third again or even half!
