What was the 4/6 seater bikes called.. leather seats ..
Like a pedlo! but not! doing my head in!!
I can see them now in my mind!! leather seats on some steered at front. Not a quad either!!

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.If they're the same as the ones you used to be able to hire in Skegness in the 50s, they were - at least in Skegness - known as "social cycles". I believe some of them did have a canopy. Running on 4 wheels, they had 2 seats at the front, both equipped with pedals and the right-hand one with handlebars linked to both front forks for steering, and 2 at the back - can't remember at this distance whether the back seats had pedals as well, or whether the front-seat occupants had to do all the work. I remember them clearly from family holidays in the 50s.
