I was told Skyscanner is what the travel agents use but not sure if it was any cheaper in the long run.
Last year I used TravelRepublic and was ableto pay a deposit on my flights and pay the rest nearer the holiday, it was really good.
Try BA. I just looked at London - Bombay - London in March and it comes out at 306 including everything
In general I use expedia. Nearly always cheapest fares available (but not always!) And they are very helpful if you have to phone them.
the best thing to do is go direct to their own website,easyjet,jet2,monarchetc,i know it takes longer but opodo dont have every airport available, and they add on their commission, skyscanner isnt always up to date, and travelsupermarket dont do every airline so you may be missing out on a bargain flight!
We use expedia too and have never had any nasty surprises
I always use Skyscanner and it is brilliant, if the cheap flight advertised isn't available, contact them and they get it at the price you wanted, love them!!!
I always use BA direct or ebookers.com.
I've always used Trailfinders when flying long haul...
