How much is it & is it worth the trip ? (bearing in mind we've already been to the GC once)

Thanx !

Hi, try looking on this site. It gives a bit of information from people who have been on it and the price. You may find some of what you are after. Just wind down to the reviews and have a read.

Also have a look at this site.

The Sky Walk is a gimic, designed to attract folks that go to Las Vegas and have only a limited idea where to go to satisfy their desire to see 'Grand Canyon'. It's on desolate Native American Indian land, miles and miles to the west of the 'proper site (and hence closer to LV). It is also 50+ miles up an unpaved road to get there, with little else to do up there than spend yet more money - you have to return back along the same lonely track.
Do not forget the declared objective of the project is to raise funds for the NAIs that own the surrounding land.
It is not for no reason that intrepid explorers that found the 'original' site spread the word back about the wonders of it. Don't muck about - go the the proper site.

Thanx to you both - after reading your postings & checking out the link to it via "tripadvisor" I don't think we shall be bothering with it (as I said, we have seen the GC before) - it was just after seeing the programme megastructures last nite, we thought it looked good (?) Hey Ho !!
It is a pity they had to "spoil" the site by building something like that.

Why do we humans have to take the wonderful things that nature has left us and then "ruin" them.
The Skywalk was featured in National Geographic Magazine last year I think it was. As buildersmate says it is a gimick aimed at fleecing visitors to Las Vegas who get bored with the tables.

What struck me was the price of a visit and the NG reporter complained about it too. I think it's a five hour coach trip from Las Vegas. You have to wear special slippers to walk out on the glass bridge and it costs about 35 each to do so (the coach fare is extra!). I remember the Skybridge operators tried to explain the costs by saying they had to recoup expenses, pay staff ....... etc. etc. The usual cover for a rip off. The other complaint was that the Skybridge is an appalling intrusion on the beauty of the canyon.
