about to book for thailand,next easter, can anyone recommend a resort which will appeal to 2 adults and a 16yr old daughter.

Cha-am, Hua Hin or Krabi should be OK. But be warned that Easter is right in the middle of the hottest part of the year.

Or try the southern Islands... or Koh Chang off the east coast... will mean more internal travel though...

I recommend Koh Samui, it's a beautiful island with a fantastic choice of accommodation. There's plenty to keep you going for a few days, leaving lots of relaxing time. Ang Thong National Marine Park is nearby and is worth a day trip. It's also easy to get to Koh Panyang.
