Xante Greek Island
Im going away with some friends to Zante for one week this summer and i'm not sure how much money to take, we intend to go to a couple of clubs and eat out every night maybe a couple of days out but mainly by the pool during the day.
Has anyone been recently how did it compare with eating/drinking out back home (yorkshire UK)
Any advise welcome
Thanks

Does anyone know if Maestro cards can be used abroad?
Zante was one of my best holidays ever, went abut 5 years ago,we stayed at lagonas right by the main strip and partyed haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaard! I used my lloyds bank visa electron card the whole holiday(cashpoint) and yeah its cheap, but its so cheap you end up spending eveng more money as your caught up in the hype of it all!A word of advice is we used quads (atv's) out there and at the end of the holiday when the guy that loaned it to us checked it out for damages,he pointed at a piece of broken plasic underneath (which was broken all along) and said that i owed him 200 euros for it a big argument happened as i told him to go to hell for it,he would'nt give us back our licences and the time was drawing nearer for our flight,so i offered to go and find that same piece of plastic at one of the other dealers for much cheaper,he then said "how when your plane leave in 1 hour and 15 minutes" (the sneaky barsteward) had asked us at the begining of the holiday and written it down, bottom line is i had to shell out 150 euros after the police came (but not after we had shouted at potential customers that he's a rip off merchant and lost him some busines lol) anyway his company is "olympic rentals" its at the quite begining of the strip a small man with glasses and his albanian minder when we went to maliya crete we heard that all the islands do this to tourists so watch out about renting mopeds, motorcycles and quads, apart from that the holiday was everything and more then we ever could have dreamed of! enjoy and goodluck!
I went to Zante 2 years ago with a group of friends, specifically Laganas.
I took 400 and was a bit cautious with my spending, and some of my friends took 600 and were not spend cautious. We all spent every penny we had.
We ate out and went clubbing every night.
Drinks were typically 5 euros each.
N.B. Exchange rate back then was about 1.45 euros to the .
Hope this helps.
