Just a bit of advice and something I do now whoever I travel with.
We were told, en masse, that the flight was cancelled and no other flight was being put on. It was a mad rush out of the terminal to get into queues for other airlines, etc.
We couldn't get a flight for two days, had to stay in a hotel, paid a fortune for BA flights and into the wrong airport so had to pay to get to LGW and then pay excess parking - on our honeymoon!!!! It took me nearly ten months to get my money back and I had to take them to court.
If we had left details with someone a quick text could have got us booked on cheap flights in minutes. Just a precaution but Easyjet have very small print re cancellations which, sadly, they still do not adhere to.
My cheap holiday cost me as much again to get home - but where would we be without those memories, eh??? LOL
