I am due to travel to Washington DC next week and would like to take a tour of the White House.  I looked on the official website which seems to only give advice to US citizens who want to do this and not to foreigners.

Has anyone from the UK etc toured the White House and if so, how did they obtain tickets, or can anyone else advise me - I really want to do this!!  Thanks.

I was in DC in April and wanted to do this but couldn't.  I was told the White House is only open to tours for school groups and US citizens, who arrange it through their congressman.  I'm sorry, but I think you will just have to look at it from outside.
