What are the cities that you like to visit most? Not ones that are already very popular like Paris, Brussels, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, etc. Any other cities in whatever continent - Asia, Africa, Europe or the Middle East that you would love to visit, but not promoted by travel agents?

[Bangkok]

Perth is not promoted as much as Sydney, but is closer and very nice, with the Margaret River close by.

Hanoi is a great mix of French and Vietnamese styles (Ho Chi Minh is much more lively, but without the French flair). 

Siam Reap in Cambodia has Angkor Wat (and 1499 other temples), but is fast becoming touristy. 

Chiang Rai is less touristy that Chiang Mai in the north of Thailand.  It is on the edge of the golden triange and has some great sights.

I don't know if Buenos Aires is promoted in the UK, but I loved it.

Krakow in Poland is becoming very popular yet it hasnt been marked as much, but it is becoming an up and comming place to visit, as for a long distance Costa Rica is becoming a popular place to visit also.

Sofia in Bulgaria is a real eye opener!! It's possibly the cheapest place I've ever visited and hugely un-commercial, but also a very poor city!!
