Turkish Holiday
Thinking of going to Turkey in September (2009) all-inclusive. Can anyone recommend a good hotel / resort (4/5 star). Read many reviews but they seem very mixed.
We are a middle aged couple , no kids, but dont mind a young - ish environment. thanks.

All the seaside resorts are now very lively, but if you want it a little quieter, go further into the interior. No one place in particular. They're all OK, as far as I'm concerned.

Returned last Monday from Marmaris. Avoid the 4-5* hotels as they're full of 'sun-bed baggers'; very aggravating!
I prefer 3* apartment complexes, with own restaurant & cooking facilities. Lovely pools/bar/cabaret and not skyscrapers.

Well I can thoroughly recommend the five star hotel in Belek called Xanadu - it was excellent. I've travelled all over and this was one of the best holidays I've ever had. Look on-line and you will not find one single bad review! The food was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble, lovely fluffy towelling robes and slippers for you and they even do your laundry! Plenty of sunbeds and warm clean towels. Shows every night and lovely pools and private beach. Enjoy!!
I stayed here last year and it was very good. I travel alone and found it clean and friendly . The spa is also very good , I had a massage every day. The turkish baths are incuded in the all inclusive price. http://www.thomascook.com/destinations/turkey/ antalya/alanya/alaiye-resort-and-spa/?adnetwor k=td&affiliateid=1333808&_requestid=11826
Anywhere in Antalya will be good - Marmaris is not the ideal resort for 5 star - well don't really like the resort myself.
If you're rich the Marden in Antalya would be wonderful. My friend's mum was invited there before it s grand opening with all the stars (think it's due to be opened next week) so the staff could practise their skills. She said it was out of this world.
