If you are paying for your holiday on a debit card are you still covered like you would be if you payed by debit card? Cheers

Assume the second debit card should read credit card. The answer is no, which is why many firms charge more for credit card payments.

Not strictly true Cathyhuns,

the protection is not as good as CC but If the debit card is a Visa then they have 'Visa Debit Chargeback' within their T&C's, any banks that issues a visa debit card (Barclays are one) have to abide by this as well.

This does not apply to Maestro, Switch or Solo though.
