I am going on holiday to Spain (Santa Susanna, Costa Brava) next week. I am taking my laptop and wondered if anyone knows where I can get free internet access. Do the Mc Donalds have free access there like they do here in the UK?

I don't know this particular location but in other tourist areas of coastal Spain there are shopping centres, cafes and bars that have free WiFi on site. The first are the best because you don't need to buy anything (Starbucks and McDonalds sometimes/often charge for WiFi). The best thing is simply to ask around, you'll soon find someone who knows (but not your resort/hotel if they charge for internet access). These facilities are perfectly acceptable for e-mail and modest browsing, but too slow for quite a few other operations.
