Caribbean - help?
There are a few of us considering visiting a Caribbean Island next year to celebrate our 30th birthdays. Which island would people recommend considering the fact that we are a group of friends so it doesn't need to be romantic, we like to eat and drink out a lot and there has to be stuff other than lying on the beach/by the pool to do.

We where only there for a day in each place due to us being on a cruise, If you go onto Travel dog you will find in depth info you need. the people in each town where great to get on with, the taxi driver was telling us about many men seen with one arm, the reason for this they go out to the forest to find food or whatever the get bitten by a snake they have 2 choices, cut off their arm or die as it would take to long to go to the hospital ( This is true by the way) Enjoy your trip, we did. on a point if you decide on a tour, barter & barter over the price, but do this at day time, one bit of advise if I can, do not flaunt your GOLD, some characters out there have nothing to loose.
There are load of excursions and day trips in places like St. Lucia. I was there in Feb '97, and one day I took a trip to Union Island in the Grenadines, set sail on the ship that was used in the Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy, and sailed arounds the Tobago Keys. Another day we drove round the Island and thru the rainforest, past the Pitons and down to Soufrierre. You could also take a trip to Marigot Bay (where Dr. Doolittle was filmed). They do sunset cruises with 3-course meal included. Have a walk around Castries (the Island's Capital). Yep, there's loads to keep you occupied.
