Hi , Just browsing the internet at the mo, looking for a 3/4 night break in dublin in sept (i want something that is in the town centre close to bars shops etc.. any idea on cheap hotels good places to visit etc...

also when we arrive at the airport is there places to call/grab a taxi ? or does this have to be booked in advance?

Hi stylinsam. The Guinness storehouse and trinity college are a must see. Dublinia and you can do an open top bus tour of the city. On the outskirts - dunlaoghaire on south side and howth and Malahide on north side are nice. Temple bar for nightlife, restaurants etc. Henry st and grafton st for shopping. You can get a taxi straight outside airport - there is a taxi rank. Hope this is of some use to you .

north star hotel off oconnel streeet or the abbey hotel in middle abbey streeet just off oconnel street

get to both with the airport bus

cheap
and fast and easily accesible



have a great time and go to the wax museum if you have time too

oh no dont do any of above hotels now used as BB for homeless try the temple bar hotel is very central, the aisling hotel or any of the ones in grafton, leeson strreet area avoid o connell street accomadation. The phoenix park area is very nice as is rathmines area. ?You could head to bray by dart for a day which is nice also

pinky the abbey hotel is very nice and reasonable

ive stayed there many times
likewise the northstar

handy for bus etc and not too expensive

Amien st,where the north star hotel is,is a no go area for tourists.Dont go there styl.

Def right about north star and that area not good. You could stay in suberbs as long as you are near a dart station. Are you still with us stylinsam ??

peri the north star is straight across from the train station and was very nice

yes its actually better to say in some of the suberbs area and get a luas or bus in to town there are some nice hotels in the clondalkin area red cow, green isle etc equally around the liffey valley shopping centre there is the clarion hotel or the Spa hotel in lucan gives a reasonable rate and is on a direct bus route in to town, Dont go near amiens street or o connell street. Get back to us on what hotels you are looking at as some are used for homeless B B and are a no go like the morning star is now

stayed there about 8 or 9 times lovelly bar great breakfast 3 00 yards from oconnel street a great base for shopping or sight seeing in dublin.


i doubt youll see many homeless in them.

oops sorry leg but i still would recommend staying outside the city centre in fact most irish people would as i note from pericat too who is a dub

people visiting dublin and possibly shopping appreciate being central
from the abbey hotel the hapenny bridge is 2 mins walk

the main shopping 1 minutes walk as arnotts is across the street and thryu there youre into all the shops


as a woamn im sure youve done the trip back to the hotel fully laden with bags?
to return shopping

ive always stayed in the center and found it friendly inviting and never a let down.

shopping best in grafton street, Liffey Valley shopping centre or Dundrum shopping centre largest shopping centre in ireland. The more non broadcasst tourist attractions can be seen in the superbs of dublin. Howth is very scenic with great fishing and lots of restaurants. Bray is a seaside town with amusements of a small scale , a nice promenade. There is Rathfarnham castle, killiney castle, malahide castle etc
