I think they're winding you up.
large bottles (probably holds 6 pints) of water were costing me around 3 euros, so it's not a big issue.
something like robinsons orange squash may cost a bit more than in the shops here, but not a lot more, and if you;ve paid out for an all inclusive holiday I really wouldn't worry about a 5 of squash over the 2 weeks.
you'll probably have bottles of water in your room anyway, and will get them free at lunch, dinner etc too.

I too think someone is winding you up. We live in Spain and don't find it that expensive.
We buy our bottles of water in packs of 6, and they work out at 45c per 2litre bottle. Its around e1.50 for a 2 litre bottle of squash, but as Munchie has said if you want something like Robinsons then you will have to pay a little more. Milk is just over a euro for 1.5 litres.
We are on Costa Blanca, but I can't see there being much difference in price to Costa Brava. Have a good holiday.

UHT milk is quite cheap really, if the children will drink it (mine wouldn't, watered down to 50% is nearer fresh milk) and fresh milk is not expensive but it tends to go off very quickly (next day at times). We drink tapwater in Spain as anywhere else in Europe because there is nowhere in Europe where municipal water is unsafe to drink. The water in some places may not taste as good as elsewhere but otherwise it is fine (lots of towns and cities in the UK have less than ideal tapwater but it is not unsafe so we drink it). If you want to spend money, buy bottled water (anywhere). Spanish fruit juices are good and pure fruit juice by Don Simon is ace (see it in ASDA) at reasonable prices, but ask for British ones and expect the premium of an imported drink. The choice is yours.
