I haven't been to Whipsnade but Woburn is very good. Especially the monkey enclosure where they jump on you and stuff. They also have and indoor and outdoor play centres.
as above
I live near both parks which have different layouts and features and both have their merits.

Whipsnade consists of more than 600 acres of open parkland with large open enclosures. It's very pleasant walking around the park on a fine day but you obviously have to be fit and able to walk distances, although there are visitor buses that drive round as well as a steam train.

My wife and I have become increasingly dismayed the last few years by the rising cost of a day out at Whipsnade. Once you've parked the car and bought a guide book and plan you'll spend about 40 just to get through the gate! It used to be free to take your car into the park but now they charge an extra 11 for that! Food and drink are equally expensive so we take sandwiches and a flask of tea. Whipsnade used to be reasonably priced for a day out but we now grumble - and we can afford it! How much a family visit costs today I hate to think. Be prepared so check the entry and car park prices on-line Davey.

Woburn is divided into two areas named something like 'Foot Safari' and 'Safari Drive'. You can tour the former on foot and there are many excellent enclosures and displays. The other half of Woburn consists of the Safari Drive which is fine if you have your own vehicle. You do have to keep all your windows and sunroof closed and that's uncomfortable on a hot day if your car has no air conditioning (we went one day last summer when the temp. was in the high 80s and my car's heater was stuck on at the time!)

Both are enjoyable days out so have fun.

Me again,

Just to add that the prices at Woburn are still quite reasonable. I also especially like the large display of new windscreen wiper blades that you pass as you leave the Safari Drive!
As a coach driver I have been to both many, many times.

It's Whipsnade by a mile.
I live near these too and whilst both are good days out, I would go for Woburn Safari Park..

Also you could pop into Woburn itself afterwards, its a gorgous place and has a lovely pub called the Black Horse (bit pricey though) and some great eating places too!

Enjoy!!
