British Airways Cabin Allowance
7 Answers
Family member flying with BA on European flight this week. Checked on ba.com and can only see cabin luggage measurement restrictions, but no mention of weight allowance. Does this mean that there is no weight restriction on the bag? Thanks for your help

For most people, this isn't going to be more than what is normally considered as hold allowance (people usually only have a lot of hand luggage to avoid having hold luggage).

http://www.reuters.co...-Jan-2008+PNW20080104 (says no more than 23kg, same as hold)
So, assuming you can lift it and the volume requirements are met, you'd be fine. (I've never seen hand luggage being weighed)

There is no longer a set hand luggage allowance in terms of weight. The bag must be within the prescribed size given, and you may be asked to place it in a baggage gauge at check in and/or security to check this. In terms of weight, you must personally be able to lift the bag above your head in order to place it in the over head locker without assistance.
The limit is therefore the limit of your strength. Pigletion is correct, there is no fixed weight allowance.
(and yes, this is fact, not speculation!)
