Glasgow recommendations please
Hi, i am going to glasgow for my brother's birthday, and was thinking of staying for a few days. Although i spent my honeymoon and 30th in scotland, we only briefly went to glasgow to see the family, so i would like to take the opportunity to explore it a bit.
1) anyone have any hotel recommendations
2) Anyone have any recommendations as to what not to miss?

Click on what to do and you'll get lots of recommendations from travellers. The William Morris tea shop is nice and they've got a good shopping centre. However, outside of town is the Burrell collection which is very interesting, free of charge and a nice cheery place for lunch.
I'd second the recommendation for the Burrell collection, also Kelvingrove Museum ( and park if it's a nice day ) or The People's Palace which is good fun and about Glasgow through the ages. Don't bother with the Gallery of Modern Art.
For shopping go to Buchanan Street and visit Prince's Square and Buchanan Galleries. The west end is also good with lots of different little shops andcafes in Great Western Road and Byers Road.
If you're going in the next few weeks there's a Christmas fair with an ice rink and rides in George Square and a small Christmas market - usually in Argyll Street.
If you tell me what kind of things you're interested in I'm sure i could give you some more ideas.
