Anyone know how long roughly it will take me to walk from Euston Station to an address in Angel, Islington? On the flip side how much would a taxi cost; same journey given that it might be raining/snowing tomorrow! LOL
TIA

For walking times, try the TfL journeyplanner - advanced options alllows you to specify walking only. http://www.tfl.gov.uk/

I agree, northern line is running and the bank branch goes from Euston and stops at Angel if I remember rightly.

Despite my ageing 37 years I have never used the London or any other Tube train! I don't intend to try not getting lost 30 minutes before a scheduled meeting tomorrow LOL
angel tube station, longest escalator in europe, apparently -

Easier to get a tube than walk I imagine. More direct too.

Thanks All!
Tube? Yuck. Get a cab (if you can find one at Euston !)
I was on the tube yesterday... quite pleasant... I didn't get mugged or accused of being a terrorist or nuffink...
about a 15-20 minute walk uphill - if it's tomorrow, there's a risk the pavements will be icy, so it mightn't be all that easy. Tube would be quicker (Northern line to Morden via Bank): just two stops.
come on daginge I never used the tube until I was 41 so I'm sure you can....
Or there are several possible buses - all from Stop D at Euston. 17 minutes ride. I think the walk's a little longer than a previous poster has suggested
yes, on second thoughts dzug's right; it's a good 5 minutes just to get to King's Cross. Could take half an hour in bad weather. Personally, I'd be on public transport.
Go into Google maps
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&tab=wl

Display the map of the place you want to walk (Type Euston London or similar).

On the left select "Get Directions" and then select Walking in place of By Car.

Find the place where you want to start your walk, RIGHT click and select "Directions from Here"

Now find the place where you want to END you walk, and RIGHT click and select "Direction to Here".

Google will "draw" the route on the map, and give you distances and times for doing the walk.

Says it is about 1.5 miles
If you walk, you'll arrive wet, sweaty and bedraggled.
Just how I like my women JJ!
It is a good brisk walk and I would say 20 minutes.
JNO - 5 MINUTES!!! are you an olympic walker?

Daginge the tube is the answer its quick and frequent. Its two stops on the northern line, be careful though two branches of the northern line run through Euston you need the one via London Bridge.

How many of you actualy live in London? Its a horrible walk
Dave, 5 minutes to King's Cross from Euston; I'm not counting battling through crowds on the concourse at either end, and assuming you get green lights on the way... yeah, I guess that's about right. Brisk yes, Olympic not exactly. Apologies if you've timed it and I'm way out... anyway, I imagine daginge has done it now, hope it went ok.
I did this very journey today. arrived on platform 6 at Euston. No train, and from the size of the crowd there hadn't been one for some time. A train arrived after about 5 minutes, it was packed. After it didn't move for a further 5 minutes there was an announcement that the train would be "detained" due to an ill passenger. The indicator suggested that after this train had gone, there would be no further train for 9 minutes. So I walked it. Took me 32mn.
