Walking time in London
Anyone know how long roughly it will take me to walk from Euston Station to an address in Angel, Islington? On the flip side how much would a taxi cost; same journey given that it might be raining/snowing tomorrow! LOL
TIA
TIA

Go into Google maps
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&tab=wl
Display the map of the place you want to walk (Type Euston London or similar).
On the left select "Get Directions" and then select Walking in place of By Car.
Find the place where you want to start your walk, RIGHT click and select "Directions from Here"
Now find the place where you want to END you walk, and RIGHT click and select "Direction to Here".
Google will "draw" the route on the map, and give you distances and times for doing the walk.
Says it is about 1.5 miles

JNO - 5 MINUTES!!! are you an olympic walker?
Daginge the tube is the answer its quick and frequent. Its two stops on the northern line, be careful though two branches of the northern line run through Euston you need the one via London Bridge.
How many of you actualy live in London? Its a horrible walk

Dave, 5 minutes to King's Cross from Euston; I'm not counting battling through crowds on the concourse at either end, and assuming you get green lights on the way... yeah, I guess that's about right. Brisk yes, Olympic not exactly. Apologies if you've timed it and I'm way out... anyway, I imagine daginge has done it now, hope it went ok.
I did this very journey today. arrived on platform 6 at Euston. No train, and from the size of the crowd there hadn't been one for some time. A train arrived after about 5 minutes, it was packed. After it didn't move for a further 5 minutes there was an announcement that the train would be "detained" due to an ill passenger. The indicator suggested that after this train had gone, there would be no further train for 9 minutes. So I walked it. Took me 32mn.
