Can someone please advise me. Why the cabin lights are dimmed at night , when a passenger aircraft lands or takes off during darkness ,

I believe it is that should the plane have to be evacuated on Landing or Take off is aborted that your eyes are ,more accustomed to the darkness outside to see where you are going

Might be completely wrong but sounds feasable
In case of an emergency it allows passengers to more quickly adjust to night vision.

Thank you, that seems logical
I've also heard that window blinds must remain open during takeoff and landing so that emergency services can peer through and quickly identify any survivors in the event of any incident.
