We would like to go on holiday with our 15 year old son, preferably somewhere he could mix with people of the same age. Likes sport, mum likes sun and lazing around!! Dad likes something in between...any ideas. Thanks

Take a cruise - something for everyone and a different port every day. Try the bigger RCI ships like Independence from Southampton or Liberty from Barcelona next year for the biggest selection of amenties and entertainment. Doubt if you will see him!
What about Salou in the Costa Dorada, the theme park there is great and has plenty to suit all of you, and there is daily bus trips to Barcelona and you could go to see the nou camp stadium. Hope this gives you ideas Happy hols.
If you are looking at cruising, the Disney cruise liner is starting to operate from Dover this year - have a look at

They say all ages love it!
... or Tenerife is good, there are great water parks and you can go up the mountain and go on the cable car, great beaches and pools.
Someone mentioned Salou above.

The theme park complex there is called Port Aventura and it is similar to Disneyland (in fact better than Disneyland Paris as the weather is better).

There is a huge theme park (on of the best I have ever been in), a huge water park, and 4 hotels on site.

If you stay at one of the hotels you get free unlimited access to the theme park and SOME free access to the water park (and reduced prices for other days).

You can walk from the hotels to the theme park and water park in minutes.

And being Southern Spain it is only a few hours from UK

Here is a picture of the whole Port Aventura complex from the air.

The theme park is in the foreground, and the water park slightly behind it on the right (with the light blue water).

You can see 3 of the hotels (one at the back top left, one at the back top right and one behind the big lake on the left). The fourth hotel they built late year, with a wild west theme, see here
