i require a new passport, my old passport is lost and approximatley 30 years out of datehow do i go about getting a new passport,i can not remember any details of my old passport.

as you don't have an old passport to send back, and your other one was so old, fill out what you can on the application form, and get the form counter-signed on the back page. Your details will be found by IPS and you'll get a passport...will take a bit longer than the usual 2 weeks though. Price is £77.50
I agree with munchie63 answer & as already mentioned, you can get an application form from a post office that does the 'check and send service'. you could make the application for a renewal or first application but there's a section for extra notes which you could say about your out of date/lost passport.
