It seems due to this Volcanic Dust my girlfriend has become stuck in spain!
I've been looking on various websites and am not getting much help from them,
Can anyone tell me what would be the best route back to London if the situation with the dust does not improve?
Thought about a ferry from there but even getting across spain is becoming a problem as the renfe website is in spanish and raileurope will only let you book 7days in advance
<Getting a BA flight now, charge easyjet the cost me thinks>
I think you'll be whistling for it
Easyjet should look after you until they have a flight home OR refund you for the cancelled flight. Unless THEY rebook you onto BA you chances of getting anything sre slim.
Although i do think there is a case on the basis that they are cancelling the flights out of choice rather than because they must.
Surely they have an obligation to provide they flight as stated if possible?
If they are no flight then fair enough but when Monarch, BA Aer Lingus ect are still flying, just taking a longer route
An afterthought - and very speculative and don't take it as gospel.
There may be entitlement to compensation under EU regs. Yes I know the volcanic ash is an extraordinary circumstance and hence rules out compensation.
But easyjet haven't cancelled it because of the volcanic ash - they've cancelled it for commercial reasons - if what you say is correct. (and remember what you hear on these occasions is not always correct - quite often airport and even plane staff are talking from a position of ignorance)
They have no obligation to operate any flight at all - as long as they deal with the consequences. I don't believe they are obliged to reroute you on another airline but ICBW.
suggested that, but aparently to legally buy a car out there you need to either produce a cert of residence or property rental agreement or have a NIF No,
Basically, i'd take a chance and try to buy one for cash no questions asked etc but there is no way that she'll do that...
3 choices at the mo...
1. Hire a car, drive to bilbao/santander boat from there
2. Train, change a load of times but eventually end up here
3. Wait it out..
Or there is a 4th of me buying a people carrier and going to get em........
