Can anyone tell me if the cost of holidays in Tsunami affected countries (though not hugely affected, for example the Maldives) has lowered for the foreseeable future, and if so, how and where such holidays could be booked?

In the Sunday Times today, they are quoting holidays to the Maldives ( most of the resort islands were untouched), down in price from 799 to 399 for a week half board in a 3 star resort. The flights are from Manchester or Gatwick and the island is allocated on departure. I think this was with Hayes & Jarvis.

Other tour operators will be offering similar deals, as most Maldivian Resorts are only operating at 18-20% occupancy and are desperate to attract business as so much of their income relies on tourists.
