Hi, has anyone been to Brussels in December? My husband seems to think that it is going to be really Christmassy so we are considering going for a weekend with the children. Thanks.

Thanks for that Chris - did Eurodisney last year and it was so un-Christmassy!
If you go to Brussels in December the Grand Place will have a christmas market. You can go and enjoy the market. You can have the traditional moules at Chez Leon in the grand place, then go to Leonidas chocolate shop and get the best chocolate you have ever experienced.
We found Brussels OK but beyond the Grand Place it is struggling a bit to hold your interest. The red city tour bus seemed to have a litany of buildings made by Leopold II (or whatever number) once you got beyond Grand Place and the European Parliament. I mean, if a city's major attraction is a tiny statue of a boy having a wee and some chocolate shops, it's pushing it a bit isn't it?
The food and beer are very nice but I'd go to Bruges in preference.
