Does anyone know of a place to stop on the way back from Chessington?

There will be approx 200 people with about a third children.

We want to stop and have a buffet and will be stopping for only about an hour or so. We ill be traveling south possibly along the A3.

Thanks

you want to buy food? or you will have your own with you? inside or outside? Where is your ultimate destination? (no good giving you a stop thats 5 mins from where you finish)

Good point, well made.

Poeple are coming from all over. However the coaches are coming from Poole, Bournemouth, Southampton and Portsmouth.

We want to eat in somewhere. We want a place not too far from Chessington as a lot of the children will probably be tired and hungry. Somewhere that can put on a hot buffet for us that can cater for that many people all at once.

Someone has mentioned Guildford, Farnham and Alton but other than Alton don't know the other places much.

Thanks
sorry, one more question, what time of day please?
I can't help thinking that half an hour just isn't long enough for 200 folk, which includes slow to eat children, I mean they're slow eaters, not that they are slow to eat as a food source!
it would probably take up your half hour just getting food at a buffet.
I would look at some bringing a packed lunch, the dynamics of herding 200 people into a resturant would be quite a headache I would imagine.

Thanks.

It would be for an hour or so (plague of locusts come to mind lol).
We will be leaving Chessington at around 5pm.

Your right an hour or so isn't going to be long enough realy.

What about a take away? could a local chip shop do that many sausage or fish and chips in one go? or perhaps a restaurantor hotel do that?

Just had another thought what about the four coaches going to different places?
you would need to call in advance with orders i would think for a chippy. Plus possibl;y pay a deposit.
yep, even chip shops , if you phone ahead with your order, you can just go and collect it when you get there.
Hi Cassa

Why dont you eat in Chessington World Of Adventures before you leave....( i take it that is where you are going to be )........the restaurants there stay open late, as this would be so much easier to organise and arrange for so many of you........the food there is very good and not too expensive either.

Better than eating on your laps and having total chaos ensuing. Thats what i'd do for such a large group and order the food about half an hour before you want to eat so it would be ready or in shifts from about 4.15pm on......

Best of luck for a great day :0)
Ask Chessington for an overall discount for the food/drinks, as they will do this for large group bookings.

We have asked and they can't/won't do it. We are happy to pay for the food but they don't have the facilities to cater for all of us at once.

We already have 200 free tickets and help with travel costs so it would be realy cheeky asking for more lol
they way I see it then is packed lunches, 200 people for most smaller establishments would be too much to deal with
