Wine trail

I'm planning to go on a wine trail in europe, with a group of 6 people, mid-late October.

Anybody know where would be good to go on a budget.

I would recommend Spain, but that's because I used to live there.

Regions such as Ribera Del Duero, Rioja, Rueda, Navarra and Almansa are all inland, thus they are cheaper when it comes to accommodation. Also, warmer in October than other European constituents.
