my daughter is going to Egypt for a holiday to relax. She is not going away from the resort for excursions. Does she need any special jabs ?

Sometimes it varies due to which part of a country you go to but I would go for typhoid and hep A if it was me. Which reminds me my typhoid ran out 5 years ago but I`m still here!
My son came back from Eygpt with Malaria, he had jabs as instructed by our practise nurse but she said that vaccination against Malaria wasn't necessary. He went to Sharm El Sheik but did go on excursions including a trip to Cairo.
That's weird shazza.

There's no such thing as a malaria vaccination! So I don't know what your son was talking about.

There are several types of preventive drugs that are taken orally prior to, during and after time spent in a malarial zone, usually as a daily tablet, the most commonly used is probably Malarone. Any side effects can usually be remedied by switching to another type.

Always worth taking - malaria is nasty and can stay with you for life.
