Directions in London

I will be in London in a couple of weeks time. I will arrive at St. Pancras Station and then need a bus to Hampton Court. I;m a bit claustraphobic and want to avoid the underground. Can anyone tell me where the nearest bus station is and bus numbers etc. Greatly appreciated as I don't have much sense of direction!

There are buses right outside St Pancras - others may know where to go exactly but Hampton Court is quite a way from St Pancras - see if this site with help you. http://www.tfl.gov.uk...ingaround/maps/buses/

As dt said just get to Waterloo and from there it's an overhead train with some fairly nice scenery all the way to Hampton court.

If that's the case then I'd be tempted to hop in a cab outside St Pancras (there are loads, I got one easily yesterday) and cross the city to Waterloo that way - you could be ages with bus connections..

On arrival at St Pancras, cross the busy main road in front of the station (Euston Road). Either walk towards to your left and look for bus stop 'R', or towards the right to find bus stop 'B'. (To the best of my knowledge, there's no stop in between those two but look at the signs to check.The route number you're seeking is No 59). Buses run about every 6 minutes, taking roughly half an hour to get to Waterloo.

Then, as suggested above, take the National Rail (overground) service to Hampton Court.

Allow about 1½ hours to get from St Pancras to Hampton Court Palace.

Hampton court is just up the road from me. I`d get the South West Trains service to Hampton Court (which is the end of the line) from Waterloo.
