where are the best places to stay in Goa /in this area and where can i find out prices for a fortnights holiday here in august september - most places just seem to be quoting for march april....

The whole of Goa is a fabulous long beach.  Anywhere is brilliant, quality dependent upon price.  I have a feeling that August September might be rainy season and that's why you don't find package holidays there then.
