holiday to turkey for this year I have never been before so dont really know what to expect but the recommended health requirements are for Hepatitis A, typhoid, and Tetanus really did'nt expect to have to get these done, I have been to Spain and Greece and these were'nt needed so why are they needed in Turkey?
I tend to keep my innoculations up to date because they`re free but the only one I would definitely have is tetanus because as Buenchico says you should keep up to date anyway. When there is a typhoid outbreak somewhere, you tend to hear about it so if there haven`t been any outbreaks in Turkey, I probably wouldn`t bother.
if you're just going to beaches, I wouldn't personally bother with any of them. You're right, it's close to Greece and very similar in many ways (only the food's better). Very nice people
Turkey is no comparison to Iraq or Syria; its a modern/western, muslim country. People are v.welcoming, shopping is the best for fashions etc, food fantastic, clubs amazing, sport venues the best - my top choice over all in the Med. Cigs & booze are cheap :)
The health services at my employer does them bednobs. Sometimes when I go in there they`re trying to push a certain vaccine. I remember I got a lecture about meningitis once and ended up having the vaccine. I`m sure they had a batch they were trying to get rid of!
