holiday to turkey

have been to lots of places but not turkey and most people say its ok so need a bit of help as to where is nice in maybe september, know it has alot of resorts but dont want to be sitting on a bus for hours as the flight is going to be more than 4 hours, ideally only half an hour on the bus would be fine, thanx

Depends what you are looking for and your budget - If you fly into Antalya, then you have a huge range of all inclusive hotels in Lara Beach and Belek etc to choose form. We went to the Paloma Grida last year and couldn't fault it as a family hotel. there are others that are more suited if you were wanting a more adults type hotel. I have been to Marmaris years ago and I quite liked it, but friends who have ben there recently thought it was going downhill as more of the tourism has moved to the newer resorts. When you decide on an area, look on tripadvisor for some reviews of the hotels.

If he doesn't like being hassled, then maybe an all inclusive would be suitable - everything is already paid for and you will probably find that you wont want to leave the resort unless you realy want to see the sights.

pinki, it really depends on what you want from a holiday - when we went last year, all we wanted to do was relax in the sunshine and chill out after a tough year - you're right it could have been any hot country :o). as audi doesn't want to be sitting on the bus for hours, I suspect that she may just be wanting a relaxing holiday and may not be interested in sightseeing. When I went to turkey before - pre kids - we did sightseeing and boat trips etc. so wasn't bothered this time. I do however love the people and the food (and the sun!) so was quite happy to go back.

pinki - me too usually - we did 12 nights which was fab - both of us were stressed to the max before we went, kids were happy to mess about in the pool and on the beach and stuff their faces all day - nice meals and a couple of drinks of an evening, a couple fo turkish baths and we came back totally refreshed. Couldn't do that every year though! This year will be a mix of camping, center parcs and cycling in the uk. got to mix it up a bit :o)
