Not heard that this has happened or even been proposed.

Thos Cook and Coop Travel have merged though - or at least stated it will happen. Are you confusing it with that?
No, TUI merged with 1st Choice a couple of years ago.
I think that Dzug2 might be confused. While there might be trading agreement between Coop Travel and Thomas Cook (so that they can sell each other's deals) they don't seem to have merged. Coop Travel remains a trading name of the MidCounties Co-operative Society, while Thomas Cook trades also trades as Neilson, Direct Holidays and Club 1830.

TUI is completely separate, trading as TUI (in Spain & Germany only), MosTravel, Premium Traveller, HotelBeds, Arke, First Choice, LateRooms.com, Hayes & Jarvis, Fritidsresor, JetAir, Marmara, Nouvelle Frontiers, Quark Expeditions and The Moorings.

If they did, they could call themselves thom thom.
No I'm not confused - I was going by this

which seems fairly clear.
Thomas Cook and Tui are, and remain separate businesses.
