Where can you smoke legally in europe now?

I was just chatting with friends the other night, and this came up. Is there anywhere still in europe where the bars still allow smoking?

You can still smoke in the cafes in Amsterdam...only joints though.

You still could in Austria when I was there 18 months ago

The bars don't seem to have any problem with people getting drunk, vomiting everywhere, smashing up the towns, going home and causing domestic violence, costing the police 80% of their time and the police and NHS billions of pounds a year...................but don't smoke for Heavens' sake!.....

While we were in Tenerife a couple of weeks ago the new law for came in force in Spain, no smoking in bars, cafes, near childrens playgrounds etc. Everyone sat outside bars and hotels to smoke. I don't know of anywhere you can relax and have a cigarette.

Last time I was in Jersey(2006) you could smoke in bars.

It was after May that I was there. I understand the legislation is an enabling power. I don't think they have used it much, not then anyway. Maybe things are better now.

Poland. Don't think it's legal but the bar owners certainly don't enforce a ban.

You think it's tough in Europe - you should go to Hong Kong, where you can't even smoke in the parks or on the beaches. There are special smoking areas behind the beaches (behind the toilet block or somewhere else as salubrious!). And woe betide you if you drop a cigarette butt on the ground instead of in the ashtrays on top of the bins, it's a hefty find for any littering. Mind you, there are litter bins about every 100 yards!

How I grieve for those in Tenerife, forced to sit outside in the warm sunshine to smoke. It's even warm in the evenings.

I think you can smoke on Cruise Ships but I'm sure someone will tell me you can't.

In Germany they have changed the ban!........in a small bar not serving food, you can smoke, if serving food, then you can't................fair enough!..........
