Last year I went to Havana, Vinales valley, the Bay of Pigs (snorkelled in the Bay, excellent), Trinidad (16th century Spanish town, now a UNESCO world heritage site) and back to Havana, staying in casas particulares (b&b's) along the way. I obviously don't know what your experience is but anything outside of  Havana and Varadero, the prime sun & sand package destination, is very quickly off-the-beaten track. I would strongly recommend doing some serious research before you go (Great eateries? - er, not too many). An excellent resource is www.lonelyplanet.com, go to the Thorn Tree Forum and look for Cuba. A wealth of information from travellers.

Cheers, thats great. The missus is a sun worshipper so for the first week i'm off diving whilst she catches the rays. second week i want to explore to get a real cultural feel for the place, which obviously we wont find on a holiday complex. thanks again that web site will be of great use for now and future holidays.
