You mean car airbag?  Yes it is possible for an airbag to cause you physical harm.  However it would protect you from far greater harm.
I was in a car crash where the airbag deployed and i badly cut my eyes. Very painful etc... There is an argument that this should never happen as the automatic reflex of our eyes is to close at the last second. But it happened to me! I dont think this is too surprising, as your whole face feels like its been punched, but it is a lot safer than the alternative and i now surround myself with them.

Cassimer is living proof airbags work, though some small injuries apper to have been sustained.

What you should note is the fact an air bag should be used in conjunction with a seatbelt. Many states in America do not have the wearing of seatbelts as compulsory , though many car manufactures now install airbags as standard, as a result many people in the states ( around 200 a year)have been decapitated by the airbag if they have not worn a seatbelt!!

I suppose there would be even more risk to your eyes if you wear glasses...........will have to remember to take mine off next time I'm driving.
