Hi,we are holidaying in an apartment on Poole Quay this May/June.
Can someone tell me if there's a footpath tunnel under the railway line embankment,(I think it's the London to Weymouth line),so we can walk from Poole Quay to Poole Park.
I've looked on a Google Satellite image and it looks as though there's a tunnel of some sort, but then again it could be a water culvert.

Thanks for any info.

It's the entrance to a pig sty....you'll be at home there:-))))))))))
If you mean Whitecliff Rd. http://maps.google.co....008274,0.027466&z=16 then the railway line is on a bridge over the road; at that point Whitecliff Rd. is a single lane with a narrow pavement on one side.
If you use street view in Google Maps with the link that I posted then you can see it quite clearly.
Yes you can walk from the quay to the park, but I wouldn`t as you can get a road train to take you there and see Poole as well.
Yes, If you walk toward's Baiter, past the new(ish) Marina, you will come to some parkland, you should see a skater park, if you go the left of that in Labrador Drive there is a subway that will take you directly into Poole Park
http://maps.google.co...F-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wl
or if you carry on to whitecliff on the left is a railway bridge that you can walk under (path on one side) and that will take you into the park as well.
sorry its newfounland drive not labrador drive.

"Mornington Crescent"?
You know all about Mornington Crescent, DT. You were involved in the thread last week where it reared its ugly head. In case you've forgotten:

Mornington Crescent? Causes confusion (and was obviously why the sub-game in “I’m Sorry I haven’t a clue” was named thus). On the Northern Line between Euston and Camden Town. Both branches (City and West End) of the Northern line run between those two stations but only the West End branch serves Mornington Crescent. This is chiefly because, whilst the West End branch is aligned roughly north-south at Euston, the City branch tunnels are actually heading slightly south of due west when they leave Euston towards Camden Town. They turn in a fairly sharp arc on leaving Euston to head north but do not actually go near Mornington Crescent. Although the tube map shows the City Branch as being east of the West End Branch at that point it is in fact west of the West End Branch tunnels that serve Mornington Crescent. (The City branch passes under nearby Mornington Terrace and Arlington Road).
