Camping At Silverstone

Will be camping at Silverstone in June. I've only been to Silverstone once and I've never camped anywhere. Has anyone camped there and can you offer me any tips/advice?

I went for F1 a few years ago and my biggest piece of advice would be to get your sleep in before you arrive ! There was a funfair and fireworks and up about 5am to get a good spot on the track so pretty much zero sleep, not that I cared at the time !

Milly - camping is fine there - been and done it - only advice is the obvious stuff ie not leaving anything valuable in tent. As LDC said don't expect to much sleep - enjoy.
You going with someone who has camping gear?

Thanks for the answers. I had already thought that if I feel like I have slept well I won't be having as good a time as I should be. :o)

We are having to borrow/buy all camping gear. Haven't got a thing between us.

Don't Know if Silverstone still have onsite camping - but lots nearby

Assuming it's just the two of you - just need the tent, sleeping bags, burner and kettle for cup of tea in the morning. Oh and a torch. If your first time camping, then try it in your garden for an evening / overnight - you will then see what you need or like it

That's a good idea Tony. Could give it a try in the garden before hand. I might find out I'm too scared! lol.

We only live about 30 minutes away from Silverstone so we could just drive there every day but I kind of want to get the whole experience.
