More Holidaymakers Looking For Caravan Deals

A greater amount of people are looking for a caravan holiday, according to research from a vacation firm. A leading holiday park firm has reported a 30 per cent rise in the number of Britons making bookings.

It added that it invested more than £40 million in caravan sites in order "to meet and exceed guest expectations".

"Caravan holidays remain fantastic value for money with a wide range of activities on their holidays at no extra cost and a full entertainment programme to keep all the family happy,” commented a spokesman for the company.

There are two basic types of caravan holiday. The first is where you hire a static caravan at a holiday park. Usually these are located near the sea and often have many of their own facilities. For example a night club which has cabaret acts in the evenings and kids entertainments during the day. Many have their own swimming pools both indoor and outdoor. Usually there are small shops and/or restaurants and facilities for washing clothes.

The second is where you take your own caravan or motor home on the road and either stop at a registered site or even, if you are feeling adventurous, simply find a beautiful spot and stop there. Of course if you are not at a registered park you may find the facilities a bit lacking but then you will probably get a much better view and may even see some wildlife.

There can be nothing better than getting up around dawn and stepping outside with a hot cup of tea (or coffee) and seeing a deer 20 feet from your door. In fact many people take up caravanning as a means to see more of the UK countryside and its resident wildlife.

Those who do head away should look to take out a thorough holiday insurance policy to protect themselves against damage or theft.
