The Royal College Of Physicians of London provides a huge range of services to its 20,000 Members and Fellows and other medical professionals. These include delivering examinations, training courses, continuous professional development and conferences; undertaking clinical audits; publishing newsletters, guidelines and books through to maintaining the College's historical collections. The college also leads medical debates, and lobbies and advises government and other decision-makers on behalf of its members.
The college was founded almost 500 years ago and it's members are proud guardians of that special heritage. Their historical mission of ensuring that medicine is practised to the highest standards remains almost entirely unchanged. The key objectives of the college includes championing the values of the medical profession, promoting patient-centred care, improving standards in clinical practice and supporting physicians through education and training.
The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) London holds an annual public open day for members of the public to find out more about what physicians do, how they are trained and the role of the College. Admission is free and it is advisable to check with the college on the exact date every year.
The college can offer overnight accommodation next door to its main building in St Andrew's Place. The 15 bedrooms are part of the original Nash architecture.
