Royal Horticultural Halls
The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) was founded in 1804 in London, England as the Horticultural Society of London, and gained its present name in a Royal Charter granted in 1861 by Prince Albert. It is a charity and exists to promote gardening and horticulture in Britain and Europe. This is done through a series of flower shows and through many model gardens that are open to the public.
Events at the halls can be looked up on the website. The most famous RHS flower show is the annual Chelsea Flower Show, but it also organizes several others: the London Flower Shows (currently eight a year), held at the Royal Horticultural Halls, close to the RHS headquarters in Vincent Square and the annual Hampton Court Palace Flower Show amongst others.
There are four venues available for hire:
The Lawrence Hall – a unique art-deco design with high vaulted ceilings which can be utilised for a growing variety of events including award ceremonies, wine tastings, banquets, conferences and fashion shows.
The Lindley Hall - The hall boasts a stunning glass-vaulted ceiling with a stylish combination of Edwardian & contemporary architecture, which never fails to impress visitors.
The Glasshouse - As guests enjoy the three zones - dry temperate, moist temperate and tropical - winding paths take them past rocky outcrops, waterfalls and still pools, and up a gentle slope into the canopy of plants.
The Conference Centre - All seven conference rooms have an abundance of natural daylight, along with air conditioning, and AV equipment installed in each room. Capacities range from 15 boardroom to 200 theatre style.
